A significant amount of young LGBTIQ+ young people feel forced to leave home. Young, Queer, and Away from Home is an EU research project that gathered their experiences to make sure we can provide them with the support and the safe spaces they need during this difficult time, and after. The workshop includes a presentation sharing the results of our survey with queer young people who spent time away from home and professionals serving them, and a feedback session, to ensure the needs and experience of Bi+ people are accounted for in the trainings for professionals we will be developing based on the research.
The project Young, Queer and Away from Home is an EU-funded project which promotes LGBTIQ+ equality and studies the views of LGBTIQ+ young people who went missing as children. It is coordinated by Missing Children Europe (MCE), with partners International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Intersex Youth & Student Organisation (IGLYO) and the University of Portsmouth.
