Running events for bi+ people can be hugely rewarding - there is a definite need for spaces where being bi+ is the norm - or a nightmare. This session will try to help make it a good experience for you, based on over thirty years' experience of running events that have included both great bits and terrible ones. Whether you are thinking of doing your first event or your tenth, people will learn from each other about what has worked (and not worked!) in the past.
The first bi+ event Ian helped organise was the Second International Conference on Bisexuality / Second International BiCon in 1992. Since then he's been on the team for nine UK BiCons, started a series of bi+ activist weekend get togethers, as well as assorted other stuff. He has been a trustee of the charity, BiCon Continuity, that holds the money for BiCon as well as the trade mark for the name for about twelve years.
